Mysuru, June 16: As Eid-Al-Adha (Bakrid) approaches on June 17th, Muslim communities are preparing to engage in significant religious observances. On this sacred day, Muslims gather early in the morning at Eidgahs or nearby mosques to perform the Eid-Namaz, a special prayer marking the occasion. After returning from the prayers, the ritual of sacrificing sheep in the name of Allah takes place, symbolizing obedience and devotion.
To ensure that all Muslim brothers can perform their prayers on time, we have provided the timings for the Eid-Namaz. This gesture helps in maintaining the sanctity and order of the day, allowing everyone to participate fully in the observances.

One of the most profound aspects of Bakrid is the distribution of the sacrificed sheep, which is divided into three parts. This division is deeply embedded in the ethos of sharing and caring that characterizes the festival. The first part of the meat is kept for the home, allowing families to celebrate together with a special meal. The second part is given to relatives, fostering a sense of community and familial bonds. The third and final part is donated to the poor, ensuring that the spirit of generosity reaches those who are less fortunate. This practice not only reinforces the bonds within the community but also promotes a wider social solidarity.
Bakrid, therefore, is not just a time for religious observance but also a time for deep reflection on the values of charity, community, and devotion. Through these acts, the festival underscores the importance of compassion, kindness, and the shared human experience.
