Road Conditions in Rajivnagar, Christian Colony, Coconut Layout, and White Parrot Layout

Residents of these areas are facing significant difficulties due to the deplorable condition of their roads. During the rainy season, the situation becomes unbearable as mud slush and water puddles make it almost impossible to navigate the streets. The stagnant water not only poses a serious threat of dengue but also other diseases.

The poor road conditions have also affected daily life in these communities. School vans refuse to pick up children, and Ola and Uber autos decline to serve the area. The elderly are particularly at risk, with several incidents of falls and injuries reported due to the slippery and uneven roads.

Unfulfilled Promises and Appeals for Help

Residents have repeatedly appealed to local authorities for help. Coconut Layout and White Parrot Layout, in particular, have been vocal about their struggles. Local corporator Mr. Aftab has assured them that road repairs would be undertaken soon, but it has been over a year and a half with no progress. Similarly, appeals to NR constituency MLA Mr. Tanveer Sait have gone unanswered.

Frustrated by the lack of action, residents have escalated their complaints to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Although their complaint was transferred to the MCC Commissioner, no tangible steps have been taken to address the road conditions. This persistent neglect has left residents feeling abandoned and desperate for justice.

A Call for Justice

The residents of Coconut Layout and White Parrot Layout are now calling for immediate action. They demand that the promises made during election campaigns be honored. The health and safety of their families depend on it. The deteriorating roads are not just an inconvenience but a serious public health hazard that requires urgent attention.

The situation in Mysuru highlights the critical need for government accountability and timely action. As dengue cases rise and road conditions worsen, the residents of Rajivnagar, Christian Colony, Coconut Layout, and White Parrot Layout are left to fend for themselves. Their appeals to local authorities and higher government officials have so far yielded no results. It is imperative that the district administration and elected representatives take swift and decisive action to address these issues. The health and well-being of the community depend on it.

The residents’ call for justice is a reminder that government promises must translate into real, tangible improvements in their daily lives. Ensuring proper waste management, repairing roads, and preventing the spread of diseases like dengue should be top priorities for local authorities. The people of Mysuru deserve better, and it is high time their voices are heard and their needs are met.
